Robert Anderson - Account Manager
Robert Anderson is a recent (Oct '08) addition to the Professional Energy staff, but his experience in the downstream fuel business literally goes back decades. He is uniquely qualified to foster and manage fuel market strategies and positions because of a lengthy, diverse background in varied aspects of the oil & alternative fuels business.
- After graduating from the University of Missouri with a B.S. in Business Management, Robert hired on with the Supply and Distribution Department of Koch Refining in Mar of '80. He subsequently worked predominately in Group III & Chicago area refined product management and marketing throughout the 80s. He also helped spearhead Koch's initial ventures into firm & capped fuel marketing contracts and ethanol blending.
- In '88 he founded Tradewind Petroleum Services at the Kansas City Board of Trade which provided valuable oil market commentary, information and strategies in the old pre-Internet days via cutting edge voice messaging technologies and the first faxed oil market newsletter in the business. Tradewind also became one of the first energy focused Introducing Brokers executing trading strategies and consulting for oil distributors, refiners and transportation firms almost from the inception of NYMEX oil trading.
- Subsequent to the demise of the Soviet Union, Robert became the Western V.P. for the Moscow-based Hermes Group, formulated their global business expansion strategy and oversaw their '95 purchase of 2 NYMEX seats. This was the first Russian firm to buy on any U.S. commodity exchange. He also completed marketing, consulting or employment contracts for Total, Clark Oil & Refining, DTN, CPC, EBW, Clean Fuel USA, and two biodiesel producers.
- In 2003, Robert founded and managed FuelTooler which still provides downstream oil clients with I.T. and website development services using coders and designers in Uruguay and Argentina.
