Jeff Deatherage - CEO and Co-Founder
Jeff Deatherage has a broad background in the petroleum business. Before co-founding Professional Energy Management, Inc., Jeff worked for two private independent refiners, and one of the world's largest privately held commodity-trading firms.
- Beginning in 1986, in tenures with Koch Refining, Sinclair Oil, and Louis Dreyfus Energy, Jeff managed the supply and distribution activities of both light and heavy products for a large Gulf Coast Refinery - interfacing with trading, marketing, and refinery operations to schedule the movement of products by pipeline, barge, and ship.
- As a contract-trading analyst, his responsibilities included the statistical analysis of both domestic and international trading opportunities presented by government bids and refinery feedstock requirements.
- Jeff's background includes marketing both branded and unbranded wholesale motor fuels. He broke ground at Koch Refining by spearheading Koch's first foray into petroleum price risk management. In 1988 he consummated one of the Midwest market's first risk management programs for the trucking industry.
- Just prior to joining TW Energy, Jeff successfully managed Louis Dreyfus Energy's entrance into the Midwest petroleum market. He was a partner for four years at TW Energy Trading where he honed his skills in the trading and execution in the petroleum cash and futures markets.
- Now one of the founding partners of Professional Energy Management, Inc., Jeff focuses on petroleum price risk management consultation, hedge design and management, and both physical and futures market brokerage. He is a graduate of Southwest Missouri State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. He has two children, Nick and Sydney, and resides in Kansas City.
