Transaction Services:
Our transactional services begin with simple client-directed “transactional” services including NYMEX futures and options brokerage, cash market brokerage rack market brokerage, retail market brokerage and off-exchange derivative brokerage. These transactional services are mostly client-driven, unless PEM has been formally enlisted by a client to perform a wider array of consultative and management services (of which, these transactional services may only be a part). In these transactional capacities, unless PEM is directly employed to consult, design and manage transactions, PEM offers only limited consulting, advice and information in the course of performing market transactions on behalf of a client. Professional Energy Management, Inc. (PEM) is an outsourcing alternative to fulfilling these roles for your firm. When contracting with PEM, our professional staff becomes an extension of your company, thereby creating a focused and sophisticated trading and risk management department for your business. The cost of PEM’s consulting and management services is a fraction of the costs of employing a full-time in-house trading group. Product Acquisition and Inventory Management PEM is not a supplier of physical product; however, we are very active in negotiations of spot purchases (and sales) on the behalf of clients. Many clients not only depend upon PEM’s recommendations in regards to value and timing of purchases and sales, but also upon our ability to execute these contracts. We assist in the development and management of product acquisition and hedge strategies and work closely in inventory management. Implied in this activity is the development and implementation of price risk management strategies tailored to a client’s particular needs. PEM will evaluate supplier-pricing programs, advise clients on the merits of if, when, and how a client might implement the same strategies on his own behalf more efficiently, and assist in making counter proposals to suppliers. PEM will involve itself in every step along the way of buying and selling petroleum products in bulk—including the nomination and scheduling of pipeline and barge shipments and the production/management of position reports to balance all physical and paper positions.
